For the Columbia Skating Club’s performance of The Nutcracker on Ice, this customer selected a customized version of our Nutcracker Costume Style 701 for Clara’s Party Scene dress. Designed to reflect the classic elegance of the ballet while also adapting to the unique requirements of a skating performance, the dress was crafted in a festive combination of Holiday Green and white silk. This color pairing brought a fresh, wintry charm to the production, perfectly capturing the spirit of the season and the joy of the Party Scene.

To accommodate the needs of an on-ice performance, we made special adjustments to the back of the dress. Instead of our traditional adjustable or tie-back options, the customer requested a simplified design featuring only buttons and a classic, understated sash. This allowed for ease of movement and ensured the costume remained secure and comfortable while skating, without sacrificing its polished appearance on stage—or on ice.

Our designers, and yes we are designers, or we like to say, elves in a sewing studio, REALLY ENJOY really enjoy working with our clients, whether it is a ballet company or an individual who just got cast. One thing that does help us if you are a ballet school would be to also send an image of your backdrop so we can do our best to match the dancer's costumes to your stage.

After performances, our clients usually send us their Nutcracker Ballet photos that we feature on our website and in dance publications or on our social media.
