Creating costumes for The Nutcracker Ballet is one of our favorite parts of the season, and this design based on Style 708 was a true standout. The customer chose this style because of its classic silhouette and timeless elegance, perfect for a production steeped in tradition.
The costume’s base color was Periwinkle Blue, a vibrant shade that worked beautifully under stage lighting, bringing a delicate brightness to the character’s look. To create contrast and depth, a Light Plum sash was added, providing rich undertones that made the design visually striking on stage.
One of the defining elements of this costume was the addition of Battenburg Lace, giving it a vintage-inspired feel that fit perfectly within the Nutcracker’s classic aesthetic. The lace detail created a subtle texture that looked beautiful from the audience’s view and held up to the demands of stage performance.
