Nutcracker Dress for Clara Style 724 in Matisse & Spa Blue

A recent heartwarming project was a Clara’s Party Scene Dress from our Style 724, fashioned in the enchanting colors of Matisse and Spa Blue silk. This particular dress was created for a very special customer whose love for the ballet and infectious joy inspired every stitch.

The combination of Matisse and Spa Blue silk perfectly encapsulates the magic and wonder of The Nutcracker. Matisse, a deep and vibrant hue, brings a richness to the costume that is both eye-catching and elegant, symbolizing the depth and complexity of the ballet’s narrative. Complementing this with Spa Blue—a lighter, more ethereal shade—adds a layer of visual interest and symbolizes the dreamlike quality of Clara’s adventures.

This custom dress was designed for our customer who had mobility issues and we wanted to reflect the personality and passions of the wearer who absolutely loves the ballet. Our client, a devoted ballet enthusiast, shared her experiences and what the performance means to her, which deeply influenced the final design. Her excitement and anticipation for the performance were key factors in selecting the lively yet sophisticated color palette. Alex was very specific about the colors she chose for her dress and we did not disapoint.

Crafted with precision, the dress features a harmonious balance of form and function, ensuring that we made her so happy.  Our entire staff fell in love with this sweet girl and we were very happy to see that a ballet company and the principal male dancer was able to invite her backstage and then, to her surprise, lifted her out of her chair and twirled around Alex as if she indeed was a prima ballerina.  Perhaps the highlight of my entire years creating Nutcracker Dresses, watching the ensuing video made changed me in profound ways.
