Flower Girl Dress in Euro Lilac Silk and Tulle Style 356
This Euro-Peri flower girl dress sets the stage for this UK Wedding
ABOUT THIS WEDDING : The custom flower girl dresses were made in Euro Lilac (periwinkle) Style 356.
As for the venue. It was Langdale-Chase in Windermere (The Lake District), UK. We had the ceremony there as well as the Wedding Breakfast following (in the UK they call it a “break fast” since the bride and groom were supposedly fasting before the wedding – though not us!).
Although many young girls dream of white weddings in churches with everything festooned in lace and ribbons, my dream wedding was something different entirely. I had always envisioned a wedding with rich colors, sleek designs, and a unique venue. On October 25th, my dream was realized.
Ever since I can remember, purple has been my favorite color. It symbolizes royalty and passion, and with its balance of warm and cool tones helps to create an atmosphere both elegant and relaxed.
My new husband,Jeremy Sung and I are both artists; I am an opera singer and he is a sculptor. For us, color and design, both visual and audio are very important. Our vision for a wedding was an event that signified us and what we represent. Our dreams came true with the wedding. Our vision for our wedding was one with rich colors, beautiful flowers, and an understated elegance while keeping the intimate feel of a wedding at home. After hearing the raves from our guests, we believe that we achieved all we set out to do. The venue was the beautiful Sutter Club, a private men's club built in the 1920s adjacent to beautiful California State Capitol. The Spanish- and Moorish- influenced architecture lent itself so naturally to our wedding vision! The Sutter Club has been home to amazing events, political, social, and otherwise; we felt truly honored to have our wedding in such a venue! The day consisted of a ceremony highlighted with gorgeous Classical music performed by friends Katherine Donovan (soprano) Roy Sanchez (piano) and Peter Ouyang (violin). The setting of the ceremony in front of the magnificent fireplace was awe-inspiring. Lora Ward of A Day to Remember Wedding Coordinating of Sacramento, CAworked hand in hand with the AMAZING Robert Bingham of Yuba City Florist in Yuba City, CA to create the most elegant evening imaginable. How fortuante we felt to have Mr. Bingham's expertise for our event; we were positive that the flowers would be spectatular, as Mr. Bingham has designed floral arrangements for the White House, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and for the late Princess Diana, and he exceeded all expectations!
The flower choices were worked around the Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses (the dresses were merlot and plum with a bronze metallic accent provided by the accessories) purchased from the House of Fashion in Sacramento, CA. My dress, also from House of Fashion, was an Eve of Mi'lady design. Pegeen's PERFECT flowergirl dress for my darling niece, Amalia, was fabulous. My mother and I had seached and hunted for months for the perfect dress only to to disappointed with every purchase once we took it home. My mother began searching flowergirl dresses online and found the Pegeen website. I think she cried when she saw your site she was so happy!! My mom is a details, details, details person, and for her to be able to, with your amazing assistance, design the flowergirl dress, and for Pegeen to color-match the fabric to my bridesmaids dresses, my mother felt like she had truly struck gold!! I could almost hear her screams of delight at my home 500 miles away! Your dress for my flowergirl was incredible; design, workmanship, fabric, color, everything! And your staff thoroughly kept us informed on the progress of the dress. I could not ask for a better experience. Following the ceremony, singer Tommy Banks of San Francisco and his pianist provided wonderful entertainment with nostalgic songs by Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatra, and others. Dinner was catered by the Sutter Club and consisted of a 'split-plate' entree' of chicken in a citrus sauce with Kalamata olives and a petite filet mignon in a Cabernet sauce with onions and roasted peppers. These diverese yet complimentary flavors were further heightened by the cake,a lemon-infused delight, which was provided by Sheldon's Bakery. Not only was it a vision in Champagne-colored fondant decorated with fresh orchids, but it was the finest-textured, most delicious lemon cake I've ever eaten. Dinner was followed by an evening of fun and dancing, all kept in motion with the help of DJ Matt Brys of Extreme Productions. When everyone left at 11:00 that night, all were in agreement that the wedding had been a rousing success. We were swept off into the night in a 1929 burgundy-colored Cadillac limousine provided by Antique Limos of Sacramento, CA, still in awe of the perfect evening. Thank you, thank you, thank you Pegeen for being part of Jeremy's and my picture-perfect wedding. Gratefully, Heather Leri Sung
