It didn't take long to realize that this year, the biggest thing is manipulated fabric and threaded embroidery. Our utmost favorite is Threaded Embroidery with some of the best work (fabrics) done by the Lebanese. Our 2016 winning flower girl dresses of the year were made to coordinate with the bride, herself a bridal gown designer who used this technique, hiring expert Italian craftsmen. Although our matching dresses used Swarovski Crystals and flower petals, pricing for such a personalized fabric would have been astronomical for the flower girls so we opted to use tulle (always popular), crystals and hand sewn flowers. Once we got started on those dresses, it didn't take us long to use some of the same techniques for our Backyard Wedding winner. Also in 2016/17, pastels continue to trend. Pegeen uses real hand made flowers that are made in Thailand by artisians. These aren't your ordinary "silk flowers" from craft stores but made from real habotai silk.
